Transhumanism, Transmodernity and Posthumanism. Possibilities and Limits

Abstract

Transhumanism, transmodernity and posthumanism start from verifying the exhaustion of modern humanism that understood, the improvement of society and man through education, science, technology, their ability to reason, self- reflection and self-government; such exhaustion is shown in the increase of the barbaric potential of Western civilization. Likewise, they are presented as new projects that seek to overcome individualism, heterogeneity and particularism, proclaimed as existentialist humanism by postmodernity.

It is based on a metaphysics founded on semiurgy or analysis of how symbols generate a new reality, which leads to simulocracy, which is the study of how simulacra produce spaces and effects of power; Likewise, they propose to use genetic engineering for the transformation of the human being, which in some cases is called the posthuman being. These proposals are postulated as a liberation project that seeks to analyze the phenomena in a glocal way and promoting a symmetrical intercultural dialogue, which allows the empowerment of non-Western cultures and overcomes the hegemonic and authoritarian desire of the Eurocentric culture.
