Abstract

Violence, understood as a complex and persistent phenomenon, continues to profoundly affect humanity, even in contexts where progress has been made in human rights, social justice, and community cohesion. Its manifestations, ranging from interpersonal conflicts to large-scale wars, leave profound marks on individual and collective life. From a biological perspective, it has been explained as an evolutionary response to the struggle for survival in a context of scarcity and competition. However, reducing its understanding to the instinctual is insufficient, as it omits the cultural, psychological, and spiritual factors that shape human behavior. In contrast, the spiritual dimension of human beings introduces the possibility of transcending basic impulses through awareness, empathy, and responsibility. This is where education emerges as a key tool for social transformation. It not only facilitates self-regulation and the recognition of one's biological limits, but also promotes the development of universal values such as respect, justice, and love. This integration of approaches helps develop conscious individuals committed to a culture of peace. This article proposes an interdisciplinary review that links biology, spirituality, and pedagogy as axes for addressing and overcoming violence. In addition to understanding its causes, it raises the need to implement educational methodologies that facilitate its prevention and transformation, thus strengthening integral personal development and building a more just and peaceful society.
