University internationalization: Through the perception of teachers and students.

This scientific article aims to conduct a descriptive analysis of the current state of the internationalization process at universities in Peru, based on the educational modernization policy and the perceptions of faculty and students. The study was quantitative and descriptive, cross-sectional. A survey technique was used to collect data, using a structured questionnaire validated by three experts and with a reliability level of 92%. The questionnaire was administered online to 21 participants, including nine (9) faculty members and researchers, as well as undergraduate (7) and graduate (5) students. The results show a positive assessment of internationalization as promoting educational quality (90.5%) and improving job opportunities (85.7%), although they also reveal specific weaknesses in this process in the economic (71.4%), dissemination (71.4%), and bureaucratic (47.6%) aspects. Among the conclusions drawn from the results is that the following should be promoted within educational policies: academic mobility (76.2%), strengthening and improving the mastery of other languages (66.7%) and establishing alliances with international institutions (57.1%), since this improves the quality of higher education in Peru.
