Abstract

This argumentative essay had the purpose of reflecting on the critical issues that impact the development of research competencies in the training of doctoral students. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out, using the signing technique. In this sense, the theoretical content was developed based on three scenarios: exercise of mentoring in the research training of doctoral students, quality research training environment and opportunities for the doctoral candidate to access academic networks, argued with literature. recent preferably in the English language. It was concluded about one of the critical issues related to access to academic networks as a significant opportunity for the training and development of the doctoral candidate, because it facilitates interaction with other researchers, experts and resources in their field of study, while They manifest appropriate scenarios for the exchange of methodological knowledge, collaboration in research projects, professional development, among others.
