Citizen Participation for the dynamisation of Municipal Solid Waste Management in Moche, Trujillo

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of citizen collaboration on solid waste management in the Municipality of Moche, Trujillo. The study is of a linkage explanatory nature, with a basic transectional descriptive causal linkage descriptive outline and a quantitative approach was used. The study population consisted of 31,500 inhabitants living in the urban area of Moche. The sample selection was based on the conformity and interest of the researchers. The data collection process was the survey, and two tools were created for this purpose: the tool for measuring citizen participation and the tool for measuring solid waste management. The results found in this study have established that there is a highly significant positive link between citizen collaboration and solid waste management; since a Rho Spearman linkage index of r=0.589** has been noted; as well as the effect of the first variable on the second variable. In conclusion, it is essential to strengthen actions focused on citizen collaboration to improve solid waste management.
